Fernando Monje’s SEAT on top in ETCC warm up

Fernando Monje’s SUNRED SEAT León TDI was fastest overall in the morning warm up session at Monza ahead of this afternoon’s two races, with Czech rival Petr Fulín again in second.

The SUNRED driver’s best lap was a 2:02.337, just over 1.3 second faster than Fulín, but the Czech driver is anticipating tyre degradation for the front wheel drive SEAT in the race which will hopefully see his BMW 320si be able to take the advantage.

Stian Paulsen was again the fastest of the SEAT Supercopa class drivers and was third fastest overall.

Nikolay Karamyshev was the only driver in the Super Production category to take part in the session, with pole sitter Aleksenader Tosic sitting out the session.

Ulrike Krafft’s Team Ravenol SAN Ford Fiesta was fastest of the S1600 class in her Ford Fiesta in 13th overall.

The Peugeot 407 of Gábor Tim took part in his first session of the weekend and was 10th fastest, and awaits the stewards permission to take part in the race.
