Jens Weimann on pole at Oschersleben
Jens Guido Weimann has claimed pole position for the first round of the 2012 ADAC Procar series at Oschersleben for Thate Motorsport in his BMW 320si, ahead of Andreas Kast’s Audi A4.
The German’s best lap in the session of 1:39.884 was enough to secure pole position by almost two seconds over Kast’s K&K Motorsport Audi A4, with Paul Green completing the diminished Division 1 class with his Liqui Moly Team Engstler BMW 320si in third, 6.3s down.
In Division 2, for Super 1600 cars, Guido Thierfelder took pole position in the ETH Tuning Peugeot 207 Sport ahead of Ralf Glatzel’s Ford Fiesta, with the gap a lot closer at just 0.3 seconds.
Reigning Division 2 champion Nils Mierschke was third fastest for Rhino’s Leipert Motorsport ahead of Kevin Krammes in his GENA Autosport Ford Fiesta.
Division 2’s field was also much smaller than expected due to the non appearance of the three Chevrolet Aveos of Maurer Motorsport, leaving the field at eight cars represented by three makes of car, Ford, Citroën and Peugeot.
The first race takes place tomorrow at 14:55 CET.
