Monje on pole ahead of Matĕjovský at Slovakia

Fernando Monje has taken pole position for the FIA European Touring Car Cup round at the Slovakiaring ahead of SUNRED Engineering team-mate Michael Matĕjovský.

The Super 2000 points leader set one single flying lap in the 30 minute session to secure pole position by a clear 1.1 seconds over his Czech team-mate.

Petr Fulín in the Krenek Motorsport BMW 320si qualified third ahead of the top Single Make Trophy driver Stian Paulsen in the Single Make Trophy SEAT León Supercopa.

Nikolay Karamyshev was the fastest driver in the Super Production class in his privately entered Honda Civic Type-R and was 12th overall, with Kevin Krammes securing the Super 1600 class pole position in his Ravenol Team GENA Ford Fiesta 1.6 16v.

24 cars took part in the session and will line-up on the grid for the first race at 11:20 CET tomorrow.
