Petr Fulín fastest in ETCC testing at Slovakia

Krenek Motorsport’s Petr Fulín led the way in the first track activity of the weekend at the Slovakiaring, setting the fastest time in his BMW 320si ahead of points leader Fernando Monje’s SEAT León TDI.

The Czech driver’s fastest lap of 2:15.538 was 2.2 seconds clear of Monje’s, with another two test sessions scheduled for the FIA European Touring Car Cup before qualifying at 16:00 CET.

Slovakian driver Mat’o Homola was third fastest on his first appearance in the ETCC, 3.6 seconds down on Fulín’s time.

Andreas Pfister was fourth fastest overall and the fastest driver in the Single Make Trophy category in his SEAT León Supercopa, ahead of another Slovakian driver Patrick Nemec, also in a León Supercopa.

Kevin Krammes was quickest in the Super 1600 category and 13th overall in the Ravenol Team GENA Ford Fiesta, with a best time of 2:32.239 ahead of Paulo Necchi in the Ravenol Team SAN Fiesta.

The Chevrolet Aveos of Maurer Motorsport took the track for the first time with Vadim Meshcheryakov the fastest in 18th overall, with team-mates Wilson Borgnino and Alexander Frolov just setting installation laps in this session.

The yellow flags were out late in the session as Christian Fischer’s Rikli Motorsport Honda Accord had spun out into the gravel at Turn 6.

The next test is scheduled for 11:00 CET.
