Vuik Racing targeting ETCC programme with Mercedes

Dutch team Vuik Racing plans to be on the grid for the 2013 FIA European Touring Car Cup season with a pair of Mercedes C200s.

The team plans to use a pair of Super 2000 specification Mercedes C200s, built for the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, one of which was used by partner team G-Rex Motorsport in the 2012 STCC by Tony Johansson.

Team owner Henk Vuik will drive one of the cars and the team are aiming to run a second car as a customer programme.

The first round of the 2013 FIA ETCC is shared with the opening round of the World Touring Car Championship at Monza. The ETCC will also join the WTCC at the Slovakiaring in the Slovak Republic and at Salzburg in Austria, before two standalone events close the season.
