Mario Dablander fastest in wet Monza warm-up

In very wet conditions at Monza, the SEAT Supercopa was the car to have as the cars took the top five positions in the morning warm-up, with Austrian Mario Dablander setting the fastest time.

In the dry, the Super 2000-spec BMW may have been impressive yesterday, but the rear-wheel drive cars struggled in the wet conditions, with pole-sitter Petr Fulín only able to set the 14th fastest time.

The 2012 Super Production champion Nikolay Karamyshev was fastest for most of the session, but was pipped at the last minute by Mario Dablander in the Target Competition SEAT.

Andreas Pfister, Jordi Oriola and Aurélien Comte completed the top five, with Peter Rikli the fastest of the S2000 class drivers in the Honda Civic, setting the sixth fastest time.

There were a few spins, with Ibrahim Okyay spinning at Turn 1, Andrina Gugger also forced to take the escape road, and further spins at the Della Roggia for Nikolay Karamyshev, Anton Zaitsev and Ulrike Krafft.

The wet conditions also suited Nicolas Hamilton, who was eighth fastest in his Baporo Motorsport SEAT.

The first race is due to start at 12:45 CET.
