Leidinger secures double victory after close fight with Weimann

Johannes Leidinger claimed a second consecutive victory at Nürburgring in the final ADAC Procar race of the day. The Liqui Moly Team Engstler driver had a tougher job this time though as Jens Weimann was close throughout the entire race.

“It was very, very close at the end of the start-finish straight. Most of the time I only saw the front window of Jens’ BMW, it was rare that there was so much space that I could see the BMW emblem of his car. I gave everything, as did Jens, and I had the luck on my side this weekend,” said Leidinger.

Thanks to the double victory, Leidinger has reduced the gap to Weimann in the championship to six points with half of this season’s races completed. Markus Huggler crossed the line in third and last of the S2000 cars.

David Griessner was once again victorious in Division 2 with his Peugeot 207. Andreas Rinke finished second ahead of Yury Krauchuk.

Griessner heads the Division 2 points table on 62 points ahead of Krauchuk on 44.8 points and Julia Trampert on 29,9 points.

ADAC Procar continues at Red Bull Ring in just one week.
