Pole position for Johannes Leidinger at Red Bull Ring

Liqui Moly Team Engstler’s Johannes Leidinger has claimed pole position for the fifth round of the 2013 ADAC Procar Series at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, setting a time just under two-tenths of a second clear of rival Jens Weimann in his BMW 320si E90.

Leidinger, who trails Weimann by six points in the standings heading into this weekend, has taken pole position for four of the five races so far this season, the only exception being Spa-Francorchamps when his one-off team-mate Christian Klien took pole position, meaning the Engstler team have dominated qualifying all year.

The only other car in the Super 2000 Divison 1 class is Reiner Kuhn, making his ADAC Procar Series debut this weekend with Liqui Moly Team Engstler. The GErman driver was three seconds off the pace and will line-up third on the grid for the first race tomorrow.

Taking pole position in the Division 2 class for Super 1600 cars was Austrian David Griessner in the ETH Tuning Peugeot 207 Sport. Griessner has a ten point lead in the D2 standings after last weekend’s race at the Nürburgring and has now won the last four races in the class. Nils Mierschke will line-up second in class and fifth overall in the Ford Fiesta and Belarussian Yury Krauchuk setting the third fastest time for Glatzel Racing. Griessner’s closest rival in the class, Ralf Glatzel, will line up fourth in class chasing his second win of the season in his Glatzel Racing Ford Fiesta.

The first race of the day is scheduled to take place at 10:45 CET on Sunday.
