Jens Weimann secures double victory at Lausitzring

Jens Weimann secured a double victory at Lausitzring, cruising on his own in the lead of the second race as Johannes Leidinger failed to start the race. The Thate Motorsport driver started from pole and won three seconds ahead of fellow BMW driver and sole other S2000 entry Mark Warnecke.

David Griessner was once again the winner of Division 2 in his Peugeot 207, his ninth victory of the season. While Griessner was on his own for the entire race, he had a scare at the end of the race, making a mistake and going across the grass in the first corner of the lap, but without losing much time.

Yury Krauchuk came home in second place of Division 2 while the fight for third was hard between Danish driver Thomas Krebs and German driver Ralf Glatzel. It was not until the final lap that the fight was decided as Krebs out-braked Glatzel in to the first corner. Glatzel tried to fight back, but had to settle for fourth.

The championship continues on September 15th at Slovakiaring.
