Johannes Leidinger on pole position at wet Slovakiaring
Liqui Moly Team Engstler’s Johannes Leidinger has taken pole position at a wet Slovakaring for the penultimate round of the ADAC Procar Series, whilst David Griessner has taken pole in the Division 2 class.
27-year-old Leidinger, who needs a strong result this weekend to keep his title aspirations alive after a third and a DNS last time out at the Lausitzring, lapped the circuit with a time of 2:18.924 in his BMW 320si, 1.2 seconds faster than that of new team-mate Tim Schrick.
Championship leader Jens Weimann was the third fastest of the three S2000 Division 1 cars, 2.6 seconds down on Leidinger’s time in his Thate Motorsport BMW.
In Divison 2, Austrian David Griessner took pole position in the ETH Tuning Peugeot 207 Sport, ahead of the Glatzel Racing Ford Fiesta of Belarussian driver Yury Krauchuk by more than a second.
Ralf Glatzel was third fastest in the class in his Ford Fiesta and sixth overall, with the Danish driver Thomas Krebs fourth in class in the Engstler-run Ford Fiesta 1.6.
ETH Tuning’s Andreas Rinke, Engstler’s Julia Trampert and NK Racing’s Pascal Hoffman round out the top ten.
The first race gets underway at 9:25 CET on Sunday, with race two at 13:50 CET.
