Jens Weimann claims pole for Hockenheim season finale
Jens Weimann defied a crash in free practice and claimed pole position for the ADAC Procar finale at Hockenheim. The Thate Motorsport driver lapped the track in 1:53.622 and was two tenths faster than closest rival in the form fellow BMW driver Thomas Winkelhock.
Johannes Leidinger, the sole rival to Weimann for the title, qualified third and has got a tough job in the first race tomorrow in order to keep the title hopes alive.
The S2000 category consisted of four cars this weekend with Markus Huggler qualifying fourth in his BMW 320i E46.
Division 2 saw Andreas Rinke claiming his first pole position. The Citroën Saxo driver was over one second faster than Yury Krauchuk in second position ahead of Thomas Krebs.
Ralf Glatzel, who is closest to Division 2 championship leader David Griessner, claimed an important fourth position on the grid of Division 2, right ahead of Griessner in fifth.
