SMT champion Mario Dablander to race in new SEAT Eurocup
2013 FIA European Touring Car Cup Single-Make Trophy champion Mario Dablander will compete in the renewed SEAT León Eurocup series this season, remaining with Target Competition, which will field three new León Cup Racers in the championship.
The team will field three cars for the first time in the single-make series, with Austrian Dablander, winner of the Single-Make Trophy in last year’s ETCC with three class victories, staying with the Italian operation.
The team will also run a car for Stefano Comini, who famously dominated the 2011 Renault Megané Trophy, taking 11 wins from 14 races for the Oregon Team, and 12 pole positions, as well as a third car for Jürgen Schmarl.
“We`re very excited to entering in the Seat Eurocup in 2014,” said team owner Markus Gummerer. “It’s a new direction for the team and the Seat Eurocup is known as a highly competitive championship so we are looking forward to taking on the new challenge.
“We have a strong driver line up with Mario, Stefano and Jürgen. Soon we start with a testing programme so that we are well prepared for the start of the new season,” he added.
