1.6 Turbo cars come to the ADAC Procar Series for 2014

The ADAC Procar Series will feature the first cars built to the series’ Division 1T class in 2014, running with the same engine configuration used in the FIA World Touring Car Championship, with Wolf Racing confirming they are building a pair of Ford Fiesta ST 1.6Ts which will test in March.

Wolf Racing, a tuning specialist from Neuenstein, will develop the car for the class, based on what is now known as TC2 Turbo in the FIA WTCC and ETCC, with drivers still to be announced.

“I’m a big fan of the new Division 1T,” said Walter Wolf. “To operate motorsports at a high level and to be able to keep an eye on costs – which for us is the way of the future…the engine of our Fiesta is based on the standard engine and is rebuilt with some simple steps to be a real racing engine.”

Wolf’s Fiestas are not going to be the only contenders in the class, with 2011 champion and last year’s runner-up Johannes Leidinger having already declared that he will be competing in a D1T class car this season, the details of which are still to be confirmed.

The ADAC Procar Series will continue to feature a Division 1 (non-turbo) class for normally aspirated Super 2000 cars, a Division 2 class for Super 1600 cars and a new Division 3 class for 2014 which caters for MINI Challenge cars.
