Rikli, Pfister and Topcar teams results to remain provisional

Rikli Motorsport, Pfister Racing and Topcar Sport’s entries in this weekend’s FIA European Touring Car Cup will remain provisional whatever the outcome, until the teams’ cars are approved by the FIA Touring Car Committee and SEAT Sport respectively due to technical irregulaties found in scrutineering.

The two Honda Civic FDs of Peter Rikli and Andrina Gugger require technical approvals from the FIA Touring Car Committee, as the cars have been further changed since their last homologation waiver. The technical changes have been approved for the German ADAC Procar Series, but a formal approval has not been sought by the FIA.

Therefore, the results of the team this weekend will remain provisional until the changes have been reviewed by the committee, with the risk that should the committee not approve them, the cars will be excluded from the meeting.

Additionally, the two SEAT León Supercopas of Andreas Pfister and Ronny Jost have been found not to have the SEAT engine seal in place, as required by the ETCC’s technical regulations, and so their results will also be provisional this weekend. Following the meeting, the two teams’ engines will be checked by SEAT Sport for irregularities, and if none are found, the teams’ results will be alllowed to stand.
