Both Rikli Hondas to start at the back in Slovakia
The two TC2 class Rikli Motorsport Honda Civic FD2s will start from the back of the grid for the first European Touring Car Cup race tomorrow, after Peter Rikli was unable to take part in qualifying following an engine change, and then with Daniel Conrad missing the scrutineering check during qualifying.
Conrad had qualified in 14th position was was the last of the non-S1600 class drivers, but now the 18-year-old Swiss will have to start alongside his team-mate behind the four S1600 class Ford Fiestas for the race with all his times deleted from qualifying.
Rikli missed qualifying as the team were changing the engine on his Honda Civic FD2. The penalty for the change was a grid drop of ten places which was set to position him near the back of the grid in any instance, with the fastest qualifying TC2 class car being Michal Matejovsky in ninth.
