Fredrik Lestrup victorious again at the Nürburging

Swedish driver Fredrik Lestrup has taken his seventh win from nine races in the 2015 ADAC Procar Series at the Nürburgring, and extends his points lead to 24 points over Heiko Hammel in the drivers’ championship.

Starting from pole position, Lestrup dominated the race in his Besaplast Racing Team MINI John Cooper Works in the Divison 1 class, crossing the line 15 seconds clear of his closest rival, the Renault Clio of Vukovic Motorsport’s Milenko Vukovic, with reigning champion Hammel a distant third in his Wolf Racing Ford Fiesta ST, almost 20 seconds behind after 18 laps.

Divison 2 was won by Andreas Rinke, with the ETH Tuning driver totting up his third straight victory in the ageing Citroën Saxo, and closes to ten points of Ralf Glatzel in the drivers’ standings, with Glatzel finishing in second in class, nine seconds behind.

The Division 3 class for MINI Challenge cars was won, as ever, by Steve Kirsch. The 36-year-old from Chemnitz has won all nine races of the season so far in the class, and now has a 45 point lead over Bernhard Wagner with just 70 points available from the remaining seven races.
