Three Volkswagen Golf TCRs in TCR Benelux

The Belgian VW Club announced today that three Volkswagen Golf TCRs will be on the TCR Benelux grid, with the support of the Belgian racing arm of the German manufacturer.

The programme will be split between two teams, with Delahaye Racing set to run a two-car programme and DVB Racing adding to the count with another Golf. Full plans are yet to be announced, but the Belgian VW Club will grant some form of support to the teams.

“We now have confirmation from Volkswagen Motorsport that three Golf TCR cars will be delivered to those two teams in the first quarter of 2016, well ahead of the start of the series in late May,” commented Charles-Henri Bonnet, Secretary-General of the Belgian VW Club. “We have been a strong supporter of the TCR concept since the very beginning and are delighted of this development. The Belgian VW Club will support the efforts of those two teams and we will announce shortly in which way.”

The count of Volkswagen Golf TCRs racing next year rises to seven, with Liqui Moly Team Engstler set to run two cars in the International Series as well as two in the TCR Asia Series, as announced by team manager Kurt Treml to TouringCarTimes, with Davit Kajaia the only driver announced so far.
