Benjamin Lessennes and Enzo Guibbert lead practice at a wet Spa
Boutsen Ginion Honda pair Benjamin Lessennes and Enzo Guibbert led the way in the one-hour practice session at Spa-Francorchamps on Saturday morning, finishing just under a second ahead of Team WRT SEAT pair Sam Dejonghe and Denis Dupoint.
Lessennes and Guilbert, driving the #2 Honda Civic TCR, lapped the 4.4km circuit with a time of 2:52.629, with persistent but light rain continuing to fall at the Ardennes circuit.
The SEAT of Dejonghe and Dupont made a late improvement to split the two Boutsen Ginion Hondas, with Tom Coronel and Stéphane Lémeret finishing down in third, nine-tenths of a second off the pace.
Stefano Comini and Sheldon van der Linde finished fourth in Comtoyou Racing’s new Audi RS 3 LMS, running in a black and red livery, just six-thousandths behind the Honda.
The DG Sport Compétition Opel Astra TCR of Fred Caprasse and Mat’o Homola was next up, 1.5 seconds down, ahead of WRT’s Maxime Potty and Matthieu Detry.
The Bas Koeten Racing Audi RS 3 LMS of Mika Morien and Stan Oord followed, nearly three-seconds back, with Aurélien Comte and Kevin Abbring eighth fastest in the DG Sport-run Peugeot 308.
The Delahaye SEAT pairing of Edouard and Guillaume Mondron and the WRT Volkswagen of Rob Huff and Jean-Karl Vernay completed the top ten.
The next session is qualifying at 14:55 CET, which sets the grid for this afternoon’s one-hour qualifying long race at 16:55 CET.
