Andreas Pfister happy with Nürburgring result despite of straight-line disadvantage

Pfister Racing’s Andreas Pfister was happy with his fourth-place finish in the second race at the Nürburgring Nordschleife after starting from pole position, with his DSG-equipped SEAT León suffering against the rival sequential SEAT cars.

Pfister and Zengõ’s Anett Gyorgy are the only two cars to run the SEAT group’s Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG), while all other cars, including the Audi and the two Hondas, are equipped with the Sadev sequential shift gearbox, though it comes with a weight penalty.

“Now we are on the clear limit of the DSG car,” said Pfister.

“After starting from pole position in Race 2, I think I did one of the best races of my career and our team had found a really good set-up for all the corners and bumps at the Nordschleife.

“But at Döttinger Höhe we are losing about 10km/h against the sequential cars, and now we are on the clear limit what we can do with our DSG car. So my fourth place is like a victory and I’m proud of all the support we received in Germany.”
