Stefano Comini happy with pace despite lack of track time at Zolder

Comtoyou Racing’s Stefano Comini isn’t daunted ahead of this afternoon’s qualifying long race at Circuit Zolder, even though the two-time TCR International Series champion has only completed three laps at the Belgian circuit in his Audi RS 3 LMS.

Comini is racing at Zolder for the first time in his career, entrusting the Friday running to co-driver Frédéric Vervisch, and only completing a short three-lap run in qualifying in order to set his laps in order to set the time for the aggregate.

“This circuit is really hard on the brakes,” said Comini to TouringCarTimes.

“I think this track will be tough for us. My team-mate (Vervisch) is a professional though, and we should be able to have a good race, though I haven’t had time to work on the set-up.”

Although Comtoyou Racing hope to complete the remainder of the season with Comini and Vervisch, Comini explains that may become complicated after the team’s two RS 3 LMSs enter freight to Thailand after the German round of the International Series at Oschersleben next month.
