Norbert Nagy secures pole position for the second year at Vila Real

Zengo Motorsport driver Norbert Nagy claimed pole position for the second time in his career, one year on from his first pole position at the Vila Real circuit in Portugal, outqualifying rival SEAT drivers Peter Fulín and Fábio Mota.

Nagy’s best lap came early in the 30-minute session, which was red flagged when his team-mate Zsolt Szabo crashed out after five minutes.

When the session resumed, Nagy’s time of 2:04.119 stood to the end, with Fulín in the Krenek Motorsport SEAT his closest competitor, just under five-tenths of a second behind.

Fábio Mota was the fastest of the two Portuguese drivers in the race in third, just ahead of countryman José Fernandes, the best-placed of the three Hondas in the race, and the first driver just over a second down.

The SEAT of Igor Stefanovski was fifth fastest, one ahead of championship leader Chistjohannes Schreiber in the Rikli Honda.

Andreas Pfister was next in the Pfister Racing SEAT, two seconds off the pace, followed by the Audi of Plamen Kralev, the Honda of Peter Rikli and the LEIN SEAT of Mladen Lalusic.
