Boutsen Ginion pair dropped a spot as best qualifying laps deleted

The Boutsen Ginion Racing Honda Civic of championship leader Benjamin Lessennes and reigning champion Stéphane Lémeret will start from sixth for this afternoon’s qualifying long race at Zolder, after Lémeret’s best lap was deleted due to violating track limits.

Lémeret was one of four drivers who had laps deleted from qualifying, including pole-sitter Denis Dupont, whose best time of 1:39.462 was also removed, but his second best time of 1:39.575 means the Team WRT SEAT driver retains pole position, though the aggregate pole time is now just 0.003 seconds ahead of Willem Meijer and Meindert van Buuren’s Audi RS 3 LMS.

The other Audi of Stan van Oord, as well as one of Meijer’s lap times were also deleted, but neither were the drivers’ best times and so there’s no change to their grid positions of seventh and second respectively.

The qualifying long race begins at 16:50 CET.
