Maxime Potty and Jonas de Kimpe split poles for Zolder sprint heats

Team WRT’s Maxime Potty and DK Racing’s Jonas de Kimpe will split pole positions for tomorrow’s Sprint Race 1 and 3 at Zolder based on their best laps in today’s long race, meaning Volkswagens have pole for both races at the Belgian circuit.

The first pair of sprint races will be contested by the drivers which took part in the last half of the qualifying long race, with Jonas de Kimpe, the only driver running on his own this weekend, setting the fastest time in the last half of the race.

De Kimpe will be joined on the front row for Race 1 by Team WRT’s Mathieu Detry, with Guillaume Mondron third in the Delahaye Volkswagen, with the German marque occupying the top three spots on the grid.

Qualifying long race winner Denis Dupont will start fourth in the SEAT León TCR, ahead of the two Audi RS 3s of Willem Meijer and Stan van Oord, with Stéphane Lémeret seventh, setting his best time with damaged steering in the Boutsen Ginion Honda Civic, with Kevin Abbring eighth after never setting a time, with co-driver Aurélien Comte retiring early on with a broken radiator.

In Race 3, Potty starts on pole ahead of Comte’s Peugeot 308, with Mika Morien third in the Bas Koeten Audi RS 3.

Sam Dejonghe starts fourth in the WRT SEAT, with Lorenzo Donniacuo’s Volkswagen fifth ahead of de Kimpe’s Volkswagen, points leader Benjamin Lessennes’ Honda, and Meindert van Buuren’s Audi RS 3.

Race 1 is scheduled for 10:10 CET, and Race 3 at 14:25 CET.
