Alexis van de Poele returns to TCR Benelux this weekend with Bas Koeten Racing

Belgian driver Alexis van de Poele will make his return to the TCR Benelux series this weekend at Mettet, pairing up with Maarten Mus as Bas Koeten Racing adjust their line-up.

Van de Poele, son of former Formula 1 and BTCC driver Eric van de Poele, will effectively replace Stan van Oord, with the Dutch driver stepping down from the team.

The team will therefore pair up their two regular drivers Mika Morien and Willem Meyer in the same car, the #66 Audi RS 3 LMS, while van de Poele will race with gentleman driver and TCR Benelux newcomer Mus in the #56 Audi.

“I had already made some moves to make my return to the TCR Benelux when I learned via Kronos Events that a seat was free to drive an Audi for Bas Koeten Racing,” said van de Poele.

“With my sponsors, we found a solution and I thank from my heart to Michaël Mazuin for the boost that helped to finalise my participation. I am delighted to get to learn the Audi and collaborate with Bas Koeten Racing, a team that has great experience racing in TCR.”
