Stéphane Lémeret and Benjamin Lessennes claim pole at Mettet
The Boutsen Ginion Racing duo of Stéphane Lémeret and Benjamin Lessennes, who is leading the championship, claimed pole position for the qualifying long race of the TCR Benelux weekend at Mettet.
The Honda duo claimed pole with an average best lap of 1:04.830, close to four tenths faster than Peugeot drivers Aurélien Comte and Kevin Abbring.
Third went to the Team WRT duo of Sam Dejonghe and Denis Dupont, just over half a second from pole position at the Belgian circuit.
The Audi RS 3 LMS duo of Willem Meijer and Mika Morien finished fourth, just 19 thousands of a second ahead of the Volkswagen duo of Maxime Potty and Matthieu Detry.
Eight cars took part in the session, with Jonas de Kimpe, who drives alone, claiming position six, Lorenzo Donniacuo and Alexis van de Poele of Bas Koeten Racing claiming seventh.
Lessennes’ chief championship rival Guillaume Mondron, sharing with Giacomo Altoè this weekend, qualified in eighth and last position, close to one second from the top.
