Team Mulsanne confirm WTCR return for 2020 season

Team Mulsanne has confirmed it will be back for the 2020 World Touring Car Cup season, fielding a single Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR.

The team announced it would focus on the PURE ETCR in late 2019 but turned focus back to the WTCR at the beginning of 2020 when it was confirmed that the upcoming season would be run solely in Europe.

“A lot of things have changed in recent months, but not our approach to racing and the way we live our passion,” said Michela Cerruti, Romeo Ferraris operations manager, the constructors of the Alfa Romeo TCR cars.

“Contrary to what was planned, last year’s cars are still with us and it seemed logical to continue racing them. We have decided to support the plan of Team Mulsanne and the efforts of Eurosport for organising the 2020 FIA WTCR in such complex and difficult times. We believe that it is important to give positive messages, also to our customer teams around the world.”

The team ran two cars last year for Kevin Ceccon and Ma Qing Hua but is yet to confirm its drivers for 2020.

“The six rounds of the championship are an exciting challenge that we take on with pleasure. Very shortly we will announce our line-up,” said Cerruti.
