Gilles Magnus on top again in red flagged second practice at MotorLand Aragón

Comtoyou Racing drivers Gilles Magnus and Nathanaël Berthon claimed positions one and two of the second World Touring Car Cup practice session at MotorLand Aragón, just like in the first session.

The session was red flagged with one minute left as Team Mulsanne driver Jean-Karl Vernay went off and beached his Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR in the gravel.

Championship leader Yann Ehrlacher, who is facing a grid penalty for the first race, was third fastest, just over six tenths of a second from the top time.

BRC Hyundai driver Gabriele Tarquini was fourth fastest ahead of Dutchman Tom Coronel, eight tenths of a second from Magnus.

Local hero Mikel Azcona claimed position six behind the wheel of his Cupra León Competición, with quadruple world champion Yvan Muller in seventh as the final driver within one second of the top time.

Vernay rounded off the top eight, exactly one second from Magnus’ time.

Qualifying starts at 13:15 CET.
