Kim Lund wants to buy GR-Asia SEAT

The Dane Kim Lund is looking to get a SEAT Léon from the GR-Asia team to run in the Danish Touring Car Championship. Lund last raced in the DTC 2005 and is now working hard for a return.
“The finances have been in place for quite a while, but we have had great difficulties in finding a car,” said Lund.

The Dane is traveling to Spain to have a closer look on the car this week. The Léon is the one that Michel Nykjær and Emmet O’Brien drove in the ETC Cup.

“Paul Ridgway of GR-Asia Racing is the owner of the car, which right now is based at Seat Sport in Spain. We have seen some pictures of it, and along with my chief mechanic and a representative of my sponsor SKF I will be travelling down to see, if it lives up to expectations. If everything is in working order, two of my mechanics will go to Spain next week to pick it up.”

The car is a bit old, produced in 2005, something that Lund is not concerned over even though he would rather have a 2006 specification.

“But even though it is a 2005 car, it is fully updated and the only thing lacking are the new fenders, which arrived last year. Tom Coronel has been racing a similar car with that specification, and that was okay. If the is perfect, we will collect it and starting learn it inside out, and then we might make an update next year. I will have a lot on my plate anyway, so it is really not that import that it is fully updated. I think that I will be just as quick in this car as in a 06-spec car.”
