Magnussen tops Jyllandsringen test days
Jan Magnussen became the fastest driver overall after the two first Danish Touring Car Championship test days. The tests were held at Jyllandsringen, where the premiere race will take place. Tom Pedersen, driving a BMW 320si, was 0.170 seconds slower than Magnussen. The gap to third placed WTCC-man James Thompson in his Honda Accord was only 0.005 seconds around the 2.300 meters long track.
A total of 25 cars took part in the test and 11 cars were within one second with Magnussen fastest and Kasper Jensen in 11th place.
Michael Carlsen continued to show a strong form in the aged Peugeot 407. The Dane posted fourth best time overall, just ahead of Michael Outzen’s Chevrolet Lacetti and Kristian Poulsen’s BMW 320si.
The Swede Jens Edman, who only a few days ago revealed that he is going to continue in the DTC, was seventh fastest in his Peugeot 407.
Reigning Danish Touringcar Chamapionsho Michel Nykjær, Tappernøje, had his first test of a rear-wheel drive car at FDM Jyllandsringen, and he posted tenth best time.
Ronnie Bremer was forced to sit out the two test days. The fast Dane will drive a brand new Mercedes C200 in the championship this year. But the car was in the workshop.
”More trouble arose so it was decided not to rull out for a test with car that hasn’t been fully completed,” Ronnie Bremer explaned. He thus have to wait a couple of day’s more before he will be able to watch the star mark at the end of the bonnet,” said Bremer to DTC-net.dk.
The DTC starts this weekend at the very same Jyllandsringen-track.
