Jens Edman looks forward to premiere
The first Danish Touring Car Championship race of 2008 is just around the corner. The premiere will take place at Jyllandsringen this weekend and Team Go Racing-driver Jens Edman is looking forward to it.
“I felt at home instantly in the car and the co-operation between the team and me worked very well and I am really looking forward to this season,” said Edman.
The Swede will drive a Peugeot 407 in the 25 car strong field of the 2008 season.
“I do not think that the level of the grid has been this high before in Denmark. You really have to push your self, the team and the car to the max to be in the front,” said Edman.
For this season the DTC changes version of Dunlop tyres that all care are required to run on. The championship now runs on the very same tyres as the British Touring Car Championship.
“We have got a new tyre with a different tyre frame that we hope will even the differences between front- and rear-wheel driven cars. It is going to be exciting to see if we cannot give all the BMW’s a hard match this weekend,” said Edman.
The Jyllandsringen-track is known to suit BMW-cars. The fact that the DTC field hosts 10 BMW’s, almost half the field, will make things even more difficult for the other cars to position them selves ahead of the German cars.
