Jan Magnussen is king over Jyllandsringen

Jan Magnussen took command of the third Danish Touring Car Championship race of 2008. The race was held at Jyllandsringen and Magnussen won the first qualification heat and the final race.
“Things went as good as we had hoped for. But when I look back, it would have been nice with more points in race two,” said Magnussen who finished fourth in the second qualifying race.

Henrik Lundgaard was second in the final race with Tom Pedersen taking third and also the lead of the championship in his BMW 320si.

Chevrolet-man Lundgaard was especially pleased with his second place as the Jyllandsringen-circuit is known to be extra hard for front wheel-driven cars.

“It is positive that we have been able to keep the speed over the distance at this circuit in a front wheel drive car. Actually we could maintain our speed, although we were not as fast as Jan was, but still we were only two or three seconds after Jan and without the lap times falling off towards the end. I haven’t been able to do that with a FWD car here before,” Henrik Lundgaard said.

Robert Schlünssen claimed fourth ahead of James Thompson, who was almost taken out of the race on the last lap by Martin Jensen.

“It has been an enjoyable weekend. The races were good and we were more competitive with the Honda than at our last visit here, even though we didn’t score as many points,” said Thompson.
