JM Racing still hoping to race in 2009

Although JM Handel A/S is declared bankrupt, team manager Jens Ole Mathiesen exclusively informs TouringCarTimes, that the team still is hopeful to race in the Danish Touring Car Championship 2009.
“JM Racing was sold of to my son, Kim Mathiesen, before we chose to close JM Handel A/S. So we will still be racing in 2009, however, it is obvious that it will not be on the level of the former years,” said Mathiesen to TouringCarTimes.

“The fact is that the racing team is not a part of the bankruptcy, as it was sold. Together with my attorney and other advisors, we chose to close JM Handel A/S, as we had quite a big debt.”

“In fact especially one partner owed the company quite a lot of money, and due to the bankruptcy of several of the partners, it became obvious that it was impossible to retrieve the necessary funds and we had to act. So the decision was to close JM Handel A/S, and make sure to keep the main operation viable”

“Our concept is to make it possible for young drivers to race, to a fair price. So JM Racing is still in business, and hopefully we will be able to race in the 2009 DTC series. But it will not be an operation the size of the former years, as the financial situation does not allow it”
