Merger creates biggest team in Denmark
The Danish Touringcar Championship team Perfection Racing, also known as Chevrolet Motorsport Denmark, will merge with AD Racing which runs in the Danish Clio Cup series, and thereby create the biggest racing team in Denmark, under the Perfection Racing brand. Perfection Racing owned by Kent Bo Steffensen and Michael Klostermann, is internationally known as the team which won the 2008 ETCC with Michel Nykjær and came second and third in the DTC with Henrik Lundgaard and Michael Outzen, under the brand Chevrolet Motorsport Denmark.
The team also runs several BMW M3 cars in the Danish Special Salooncar Championship and the Danish Endurance Championship. While AD Racing offered pay-and-drive seats in the Danish Clio Cup series.
“The idea is to join two successful companies, where both parties can ad to their original business idea without compromising what they already have created. This is only possible, because Perfection Racing and AD Racing has been involved in two different segments in motorsports, and have not in any way been competing. On the contrary, they will have great synergies,” said Kent Bo Steffensen.
That is applauded by Kent Bernsdorf of AD Racing: ”Both Perfection Racing and we have in only a couple of years grown big. Perfection Racing has in a fine way settled in the top of the DTC, and has vast technical experience.”
“We have offered an access to the fantastic world of motorsports, and in 2008 we were the team which could sport the biggest number of drivers on the Danish tracks. The merger between Perfection Racing and AD Racing will make it possible to offer talented and ambitious drivers bigger challenges and possibilities, than before. “
Sally Motorsports used to own and operate all AD Racing´s cars, and will now again run under their own name in the Danish Special Salooncar Challenge and Clio Cup. Sally Motorsport used to feature a Renault Megane II in the Danish Touringcar Championship in 2007, but in 2009 the car is expected to be racing in the SSC series.
