Magnussen confirms 2009 commitment
Jan Magnussen confirms his 2009 Danish Touringcar Championship entry. The team is owned by Alternative Engineering; Karsten Ree and Jan Magnussen. The team will run the two updated BMW 320is used last year in the DTC.
Jan Magnussen is the reigning DTC championship, for the second time. The scope is to defend it this year. Magnussen has already started the 2009 season in one way as he won the Sebring 12 hour race.
But the focus for the Dane now is on the preparation for the DTC season.
“It has been a long winter, without any DTC races, “ Magnussen explained.
“I miss the close fights and duels, so I am really looking forward to the season opener. Like last year, I will miss a race weekend, due to my commitment to Corvette in the USA.”
“But all the drivers will have to lose their worst results, when the season is over, so my goal is of course to defend my DTC title.”
The team will not run under the same name as it did last year, Team Den Blaa Avis, but the new team name and new main sponsor is still unrevealed.
