Almost unharmed through GP Danmark
Team Telesikring drivers Joachim Stephansen and Peter Ager was almost through GP Danmark with both cars. A luxury with they are not used to, but in the final heat another crash was the stopping point for Stephansen.
“The final heat didn’t go exactly as planned, “ Stephansen explains. “I had a good start and joined the gang up front, but at the end of the straight I was wondering whether I should take the inside- or the outside line.”
“I chose the inside line, because it is usually the safe choice when you are that far up the field. But then Casper Elgaard was blocking my way, in front of Per Poulsen who was stationary as well. And here I was. There was nothing I could do. I could move around them, but then I would hit the other guys, because I was squeezed in there. That was an abrupt ending.”
John Nielsen retired from Team Telesikring before GP Danmark, this time team boss Peter Ager was in charge of the team’s second car. After a break of a little more than a year, it did feel familiar.”
Twelfth and thirteenth spot in the two qualification heats meant, that Ager ended up as number ten in the finale. Which was alright in Ager´s book.
“I am content with my drive, “ Ager explained. “I had good speed in the races, but obviously you are lacking something when there are only three laps left. Then you lack some race pace and concentration, but that is it. Apart from that I think it is okay. The other guys didn’t drive that fast, on my level.”
“If I had any time to practice, then everything would be better. I feel sorry for Joachim, after he was eliminated in that collision in the start of the finale. He has shown that he has more speed in the car, and in the infight I had with him, he did very well. It is obvious that he has made progress, since I fought him last year.”
