Team Telesikring sits out next round
The next Danish Touring Car Championship round, racing this weekend at Ring Djursland, will not see the two orange BMW 320is race cars of Team Telesikring. After John Nielsen split company with the team before the last round, team boss Peter Ager drove Nielsen’s car. But this time the team has chosen to sit out the race, due to economy and repairs of Stephansen’s car.
“Last time I jumped into the car,“ Peter Ager explains. “But we lack a permanent solution, regarding the vacant spot in the team. At the same time Stephansen’s car suffered severe damage at the collision during the last round.”
“That impacted his engine, which is not ready. Generally we have been suffering from severe damages during the last rounds, which have forced us to make several temporary solutions, and not prepare the cars as they should be. Hopefully this temporary break will make it possible to solve it.”
The team is however confirming a return at the last round at FDM Jyllandsringen in October.
Five cars have so far chosen to sit out at least the next DTC round; the two Team Telesikring cars, KP Racing with their Mercedes C200 of Tom Pedersen, Casper Elgaard in his FDM Motorsport Seat Leon and James Thompson in the championship leading Hartmann Honda car.
The latter will however be driven by team boss Hans Hartmann at Ring Djursland.
