Lundgaard fastest at Ring Djursland
It was a blue Chevrolet in front, when the Danish Touring Car Championship paid Ring Djursland their yearly visit. Henrik Lundgaard led Jan Magnussen, with half a second to spare. Teammate Martin Jensen was in Magnussen´s shadow, only 0,021 of a second between the two Ree Sport BMW´s, Michel Nykjær was fourth on his return from the WTCC.
Ring Djursland holds laptimes of just 53 seconds in qualification trim, the track being only 1752 meters long. But the track is very popular with the drivers, with it tight turns and downhill drops.
Hans Hartmann Pedersen drove the Honda Accord, normally wheeled by James Thompson. 9th spot was the best effort, after the first S2000 drive in quite a few years.
For the privateers it was Jens Reno Møller in the FDM Motorsport Seat Leon in fifth, showing his determination to claim the Independents Cup. The nearest challenger for the throne is Per Poulsen, and there he was in sixth spot.
For the Invitation Only it was Martin Marrill of the M-Sport team who was in front, residing in 11th spot. John Hansen followed, both sporting a Seat Leon Supercopa.
Next practice session will be at 13.15.
