Lundgaard again fastest at Ring Djursland
The Chevrolet driver, Henrik Lundgaard, has a habit of being fast at Ring Djursland. And yet again Lundgaard managed to be on top, when the field checked setup and tirewear at the Sunday morning warm up before the first race of the Danish Touring Car Championship round six. Jan Magnussen took the pole honours yesterday at the qualification, but there is a fight stirring up between the two frontrunners.
James Thompson’s stand in, Hartmann Honda team boss Hans Hartmann suffered an overreved engine yesterday, forcing the team to change the Neil Brown Honda engine. After a few extra checks, the Hartmann was out on track.
The two Ree Sport cars of Magnussen in second, and Martin Jensen in third has really picked up pace. Michel Nykjær in the Chevrolet Lacetti of Perfection Racing was fourth. The 47,5 kilo extra penalty ballast is really hurting him on the short track. The track has not been kind to the Seat Leon S2000 cars of Jens Reno Møller and Jason Watt, both have been very busy on track
The fastest privateer was Per Poulsen in the other Hartmann Honda in fifth, while the fastest Invitation Only driver was Martin Marrill in the M-Sport Seat Leon Supercopa.
Heat 1 will start at 12.10.
