Casper Elgaard returns for the finale
FDM Motorsport driver, Casper Elgaard, has now confirmed that he will join his teammate Jens Møller for the final Danish Touring Car Championship race of the season. After having been forced to stand out the latest race at Ring Djursland, he as now secured funding for the last race at FDM Jyllandsringen.
In the mean time he has been busy dancing in the Danish edition of “Strictly Come Dancing”. But racing is after all his main business.
The grey Seat Leon TFSI will once again, drive after having parked at Ring Djursland, and also vacant after the crash at FDM Jyllandsringen the 13. of September.
“It will be great,“ Elgaard explains. “It is not that I dislike dancing, but I have been looking forward to get back in the drivers seat.”
“This year it has been a particular tough year, where I haven’t been driving as much as before, but it has been a tough year to find sponsors. And when you don’t have them, you are not driving. I am looking forward to get back into the car, especially after the last race where I claimed pole and won a heat.”
Team mate Jens Møller is in with a fighting chance in the Independents Cup, where he is tailing Honda driver Per Poulsen in the championship with 22 points. Elgaard is promising the privateer all the help he can get.
“Actually we have two goals. Jens´ chances in the Independents Cup are by far the most important, but we would also like to win the finale and end the season on a high. This would be the first finale victory, and it would be very helpful before the upcoming season. It would be great with a boost, but Jens´ championship chances are our first priority.“
