Nykjær tops both practice sessions

Chevrolet driver Michel Nykjær made it to the top of the charts, when the Danish Touring Car Championship completed its first free practice in heavy rain. Due to the absence of Hartmann Honda driver James Thompson leading the DTC points table, Nykjær is the leading championship contender.

The lack of testing meant that the field drove more laps than usual in the first free practice. The track dried up during the session, which gave Nykjær the edge.

But the weather forecast looks like rain all weekend, and then s weather setup is needed. Team Telesikring returnee was the surprise in second spot, while the Seat Leon of Jason Watt completed top three.

The fastest Independent Cup driver was FDM Motorsport driver Jens Møller, while John Hansen completed the class top runners by being the fastest Invitation Only driver.

Practice two

The fall has hit FDM Jyllandsringen, and the Danish Touring Car Championship is suffering from very heavy rain and gusty wind. Perfection Racing driver Michel Nykjær proved his skills in the extremely wet weather in his Chevrolet, and the rain just kept coming down, making the last free practice before the qualification a nightmare for the participants.

Michel Nykjær is second in the points table in last race of the season, and once again he led the field during the torrential rain. Tom Pedersen in second while and Jens Møller was the fastest Independent Cup driver in third spot. Jan Magnussen driving the heaviest car in the field was down in fourth, leading the third championship contender Henrik Lundgaard in fourth.

Jens Ole Mathiesen, driving the last weekend for the now closing JM Racing, led the Invitation Only class in twelfth spot, however only Martin Marrill managed to stay out of trouble in thirteenth place.

Invitation Only driver John Hansen never set a time, while JM Racing driver Kasper Jensen ended in the sand trap. Independent Cup leader Per Poulsen drove off the track, but made it back. Hartman Honda team boss Hans Hartmann had to sit out this practice session as the car was still too damaged after the first practice session.

The next session is the qualification session.
