Wiechers to run ADAC Cruze Cup

The WTCC Wiechers Motorsport team has signed up to build and provide cars to the new ADAC Cruze Cup, which will take place in Germany in 2010 – believed to be in addition to running the BMW 320si in the WTCC.

The cars will be sold to race competitors at 17,500 Euros each – and will be become a key launch pad for drivers into touring car series such as the WTCC & DTM.

Eric Nève of Chevrolet Motorsport Europe said:
“We are extremely happy that the ADAC has chosen the Chevrolet Cruze as the car for its Clubsport events, as we believe it best fits the values of their concept: motorsports for everyone.”

The cars will feature a 1.8 litre GM engine capable of 141bhp.
