Ogier beats Kristensen in Race of Champions

Sebastien Ogier beat DTM driver Tom Kristensen in the final of the 2011 Race of Champions. Ogier beat reigning DTM champion Martin Tomczyk on his way to the final while driving the Audi R8 LMS GT3.

Other touring car drivers in the Race of Champions were Andy Priaulx, who were beaten by Ogier in the quarter-finals, and David Coulthard, beaten by Tomczyk in the quarter-finals.

Last year’s RoC champion Filipe Albuquerque was beaten in the first heat by Priaulx. Triple RoC champion Mattias Ekström was also beaten in the first heat, by Tomczyk.

Kristensen had a strong run to the final, beating reigning F1 champion Sebastian Vettel in the first heat, Jenson Button in the quarter-final and Michael Schumacher in the semi-final.

Germany won the Nations’ Cup with team Vettel and Schumacher beating Team Nordic’s Kristensen and Juho Hanninen.
