Fredrik Ekblom confident ahead of Falkenberg

Championship leader Fredrik Ekblom is confident ahead of the TTA – Racing Elite League race at Falkenberg as the championship reaches mid-point.
“Things have gone really well so far this year and it is great to work with Volvo Polestar Racing. I feel confident ahead of this weekend,” said Ekblom.

The Volvo driver has pulled up a gap in the championship after a strong first three races. But the previous race at Gothenburg City Arena meant the worst result so far with fifth position.
“I am for sure out for revenge after the results last time. It turned out to be a good race in the end, despite the spin and the car was really fast. I didn’t get what I wanted out from the race, but that basically comes from that I wasn’t able to secure a perfect lap in qualifying like Björk did,” said Ekblom.

Volvo Polestar Racing is dominating the team championship as Ekblom dominates the drivers’ championship, also thanks to team mate Thed Björk’s victory in Gothenburg.
“I have to applaud the team and my engineer Janne Andersson. We’ve got a lot of fun together and we’ve got both cars first and second in the championship with me and Björk, so his work is obviously working,” said Ekblom.

Ekblom heads the championship on 60 points with Björk in second on 39 points, closely followed by Polestar Black R driver Robert Dahlgren on 37 points. Both Björk and Dahlgren gained points on Ekblom after Gothenburg and while being confident, the triple Swedish champion is not taking anything for granted.
“I am humble ahead of my task this weekend, we’ve got loads of fast drivers in the championship and it is never easy. Especially not at Falkenberg where it is super tight. But I am really urging for a win, we have to take one now and it is time for it this weekend,” said Ekblom.
