Tommy Rustad fastest in second Falkenberg test

Tommy Rustad topped the second Falkenberg test session, lapping the fast and short circuit in 43.480, a time that was 0.076 seconds faster than championship leader Fredrik Ekblom.
”It felt really good to prove for my self that I am in the very top with the same conditions as everyone else in the championship. My engineer Per and the guys in the team has done an excellent job with the car and I am looking forward to tomorrow,” said Rustad.

Linus Ohlsson was third fastest in the Saab 9-3 TTA, with Robert Dahlgren in fourth and Richard Göransson in fifth. Robin Rudholm was second best Saab driver in sixth, just 0.001 seconds behind Göransson.

Martin Öhlin was eighth fastest, right behind Thed Björk, and the BMW driver was pleased.
”It felt good all through the session. We have a strong base for tomorrow and I haven’t felt this good ahead of a race day all season,” said Öhlin.

The session was stopped twice with three different incidents. Andreas Ebbesson answered for the first one as something broke in the suspension on his second lap, planting his BMW SR in the gravel.

TTA newcomer Markus Nyberg made a mistake on the backside of the track a bit later in the session, causing the red flags to come out as his car was recovered from the gravel. Daniel Haglöf, tenth fastest, then went off in the dying moments of the session but was able to make it back to the pits on his own.

Next up is qualifying, starting at 11.40 CET tomorrow, followed by the race at 15.15.
