Fredrik Ekblom takes pole in red-flagged qualifying

Fredrik Ekblom claimed pole position in a dramatic qualifying session at Karlskoga. Alx Danielsson went off track in the dying minutes of the session, bringing the session to a premature end. With a drying track, this left many drivers without a chance to set their fastest laps on slicks.

Ekblom claimed pole 0.123 seconds ahead of Martin Öhlin, who completed his best qualifying session so far in the TTA.

Linus Ohlsson, who’s currently second in the championship, claimed third position on the grid ahead of fellow Saab driver Robin Rudholm.

Thed Björk was the second best Volvo driver in fifth ahead of Daniel Haglöf and Danielsson, who had brought out the red flags with his off.

Stefan Söderberg was the second best Citroën driver, just four thousands of a second behind Danielsson, with Mattias Andersson and Robert Dahlgren rounding out the top ten.

Richard Göransson, who won the last race at Falkenberg, had a disastrous qualifying session, as did his team mate Fredrik Larsson. Both were caught out by the red flags, leaving the duo in 12th and 13th position on the grid.

TTA newcomer Jocke Mangs qualified 14th, 0.758 seconds from pole position.
