SBF “90 % sure” that STCC and TTA will merge

The Swedish Automobile Sports Federation (SBF) Chairman Kåge Schildt is certain that the STCC and TTA will merge in to one championship next year.
“There are details left do be discussed regarding some commitments that STCC and TTA have on their respective sides, but to 90 percent I dare say that there will be a joint championship next year,” said Kåge Schildt to hd.se.

The TTA – Racing Elite League was formed ahead of this season as a break-away series from STCC due to differences over which set of regulations to be used for the future.

The two championships have run alongside each other this season but negotiations have recently been started between the two with SBF as mediators.
“The idea is to get this back together again and I think that the dialogue is held in a positive and open spirit. Everyone has understood that this is not a good situation and I think there is a will to solve the problem. If we find a solution, there are conditions that we are going to get out of this in a good way. Everyone is ready,” said Schildt.
