Johan Kristoffersson and Petri Corse part ways

2012 Superstars Series Champion Johan Kristoffersson will no longer drive for Petri Corse according to Omnicorse. The Swede, who was supposed to defend his title in the revamped Porsche Panamera prepared by the Italian team, has elected to go back to Audi for the Italian GT Championship.

The 24-year-old, who tested for Audi in the DTM as well, will go back to Audi Sport Italia and share an R8 LMS GT3 with Alex Frassineti.

The reasons behind Petri Corse and the 2012 champion parting ways are unknown as of now, but the disastrous weekend in Monza may have strongly contributed to Kristoffersson’s choice. It remains to be seen whether the Swede will be replaced and, if so, who will take his place aboard the Petri Corse Porsche Panamera.
