Audi get 40kg, changed restrictor and ride heights for Donington

The Audi RS5 of Audi Sport Italia has been given a changed restrictor for the engine, increased ride height and a weight increase of 40kg ahead of the Superstars race at Donington Park on September 1st. The Audi team has dominated the last four races with Gianni Morbidelli claiming four straight wins.

“Respecting art. 3.1 of our Rulebook, a balance of performance became necessary to guarantee the parity between the Superstars cars from the next race at Donington Park. This was made with the goal of providing the Superstarsworld crowd with the spectacular races granted by the balance among all the car brands entering our championship,” said Vincenzo Lamaro, Managing Director SWR.

The weight increase brings the Audi up to 1420kg and the restrictor has been changed from 85 millimeters to 79. The ride height has also been changed from 75mm to 90.

Two other cars have also had their BOP changed ahead of the race at Donington Park, with the Chevrolet Camaro getting a weight reduction of 20kg and the ride height lowered by 10 millimeters. The Lexus IS-F has had 30kg taken away, with an unchanged ride height.
