Romanini and Baccarelli confirmed at CAAL Racing

Diego Romanini and Leonardo Baccarelli have been confirmed to drive for the full season of the 2014 EUROV8 for CAAL Racing, driving a pair of Mercedes C63 AMGs.

Baccarelli will stay on from 2013, when he came third in the ‘Star Drivers’ championship. The Italian, a 60 year-old gentleman driver, enters his fourth season in the series and will try to capitalize on his previous experience to win the Gentleman title in the EUROV8 Series.

Romanini has got a wide span of experience in racing, spanning from karting to single seaters, GTs and, of course, touring cars. He completed a full season in the FIA World Touring Car Championship in 2006 and, more recently, brief spells in the European Touring Car Cup.

The Tuscany-based driver returns to the series after racing a BMW 550i in the championship and, later on, with CAAL Racing’s Mercedes C63 AMG.
“I don’t really want to make predictions, but CAAL Racing is one of the most prestigious teams in the field and I always had a good feeling when I raced with them in the past. I expect us to be competitive this year,” said Romanini.
