Thomas Biagi hails ROAL after Superstars title
Thomas Biagi secured the Italian Superstars Series title last weekend at Vallelunga and is a happy man.
“I am very happy. This season has been amazing and I can’t wait to get to Kyalami for the final meeting of the Superstars Series,” said Biagi to TouringCarTimes.com.
The Italian is more than pleased with the efforts of his team ROAL Motorsport, which is now competing under the BMW Team Italia banner.
“It was a team effort. We worked very well and obtained a great result thanks to a great team. I’m really happy to be here,” said Biagi.
After taking the title, Biagi looked back at the whole season and recalled what he reckons to be the highlight of his season:
“Winning in Imola, which is my home track, in front of my friends and family was great. I think that was the best moment of the season,” said Biagi.
The BMW Italia driver would like to continue with the team in Superstars next year:
“I hope I’ll be here next year too. This was a fantastic season and I have a lot of enthusiasm towards this project. We’ll enjoy the happiness of having won the Italian title only for a few days; our task now is to go to Kyalami and win the International Series, too. Then we can think about next year,” said Biagi.
Biagi has won the FIA GT Championship twice, in 2003 and 2007, and has tested for several Formula One-teams, including Ferrari, Midland and Jordan.
